Around the Clock Rules - How to Play

Around the Clock (also known as “Around the World” or “Round the Board”) is a classic darts game focused on accuracy. Players hit each number on the board in sequence, making it perfect for beginners learning the dartboard and experienced players warming up.

Winning: First player to hit all targets (1-20) and finish with the bullseye wins.

How to Play

  1. Players take turns throwing three darts per turn
  2. Hit numbers in sequential order: 1, 2, 3… up to 20, then Bullseye
  3. Each number must be hit before moving to the next
  4. In standard play, any part of the segment counts (single, double, or triple)
  5. If you miss your target with all three darts, wait for your next turn

Scoring

There is no point scoring in Around the Clock. Simply track which number each player is currently on. Progress through the board is the only measurement.

Variants

Optional Rules

Allow Finish Round

When enabled, all players get a chance to complete the final round even after someone finishes.

Example: If Player 2 finishes on round 9, Player 3 (who hasn’t thrown yet that round) gets one more turn. If both Player 2 and Player 3 finish in round 9, it’s a tie between them.

Hits Per Target

Adjust difficulty by requiring multiple hits per number:
