External Screen Streaming FAQ

What is DartsOn’s External Screen Streaming?
External Screen Streaming lets you show your DartsOn match on a TV, tablet, computer, or monitor. Connect with Google Cast, a Web Link, or a USB-C display cable, depending on your devices. Apple AirPlay is coming in DartsOn v3.0.0.
How do I put my darts scoreboard on a TV?
Start a match in DartsOn, then tap Cast and choose a compatible TV on the same Wi-Fi network. AirPlay is coming in DartsOn v3.0.0. You can also open a Web Link in the TV's browser or on a connected computer, or use a USB-C to HDMI adapter with a device that supports video output.
Which TVs work with Google Cast?
Use a TV with Google Cast, a Chromecast, or a Google TV Streamer connected to your TV. Keep your phone and receiver on the same Wi-Fi network, then choose the receiver from the Cast button in DartsOn.
Can I show the scoreboard with AirPlay?
AirPlay is coming in DartsOn v3.0.0. Once available, you will be able to tap AirPlay on your iPhone or iPad and choose your Apple TV or AirPlay-enabled smart TV. Both devices will need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
Can I connect with a USB-C cable?
Yes, if your phone or tablet supports video output over USB-C. Use a USB-C display cable for a compatible monitor, or a USB-C to HDMI adapter for a TV. The cable or adapter must support video; a charging-only cable won't work.
Do viewers need the DartsOn app?
Only the device scoring the match needs DartsOn. Viewers can open a Web Link in their browser. For Cast or USB-C, the receiving screen uses its supported connection without a separate DartsOn installation. AirPlay is coming in DartsOn v3.0.0 and will also work without a viewer app.
What does the live scoreboard show?
The scoreboard adapts to the game, showing the information that matters: scores, targets, lives, current darts, active players, and match progress.
Can people follow the game from somewhere else?
Yes. Tap Web Link in DartsOn and send the link to friends or family. They can open it in a browser from anywhere with internet access, without joining your Wi-Fi network.
Do both devices need internet or the same Wi-Fi?
Web Link needs internet on both devices, but they can be on different networks. Google Cast needs internet and the same Wi-Fi network. AirPlay, coming in DartsOn v3.0.0, will need your iPhone or iPad and TV on the same Wi-Fi network. A USB-C display connection uses a cable and doesn't need Wi-Fi or internet to carry the picture.
Which games work with External Screen Streaming?
The live scoreboard supports every DartsOn game mode: X01, Cricket, Around the Clock, Round the World, Shanghai, Half-It, Singles, Doubles, Bob's 27, Count Up, JDC Challenge, Checkout Trainer, and Killer.
