The usual game is 8 rounds of 3 darts, 24 darts in total. You can also play to a target score. Once a player reaches it, the rest of that round is played and the highest total wins.

What is the highest possible score in Count Up?

Is the bull worth 25 or 50 in Count Up?

Under standard scoring, the outer bull is 25 and the bullseye is 50. Some electronic boards count the whole bull as 50, so check the setting on your board.

Can you bust in Count Up?

No. Every dart adds its full value and nothing is taken away. When you play to a target score, you can go past it.

How do you turn a Count Up score into an average?

Divide your total by the number of rounds. A score of 480 over 8 rounds is 60 per round, the same as a 3-dart avg of 60.

Count Up Rules - How to Play

Count Up is a scoring game. Every dart adds its full value to your total, doubles and triples included, and the highest total after a set number of rounds wins. Some groups play to a target score instead.

Also known as: Count-Up, High Score, or Highest Score.

How to play

Everyone starts on 0 points.
Take turns throwing 3 darts.
Every dart that lands in a numbered segment or the bull scores. Add each dart’s value to your total.
Keep going for the agreed number of rounds, often 8.

Scoring

A single scores the number, a double scores twice the number, and a triple scores 3 times the number.

How to win

With a set number of rounds, the highest total after the last round wins. When you play to a target score, finish the round in which someone reaches it, so everyone has the same number of turns. Then the highest total wins. Going past the target is fine.

If players tie for the highest total, agree on a tiebreak, such as extra rounds until one player leads after a full round.
