Shanghai is a points-based darts game where each round targets a specific number. Players throw three darts per turn, and only darts that hit the current round’s target number score points - all other darts score zero.
Winning: Highest cumulative score after all rounds, or achieve a “Shanghai” for an instant win.
Points use standard dart face values multiplied by the segment:
| Segment | Points | Example (Target: 4) |
|---|---|---|
| Single | N points | S4 = 4 points |
| Double | 2N points | D4 = 8 points |
| Triple | 3N points | T4 = 12 points |
| Miss | 0 points (any non-target hit) | - |
Maximum score per round: 9N (three triples). Later rounds are worth progressively more, so strong finishes matter.
A Shanghai is hitting a Single, Double, AND Triple of the current target number in a single turn (any order). This wins the leg immediately, regardless of scores.
