How is Singles different from Around the Clock?

Singles has no bull to finish, and you usually throw all 3 darts at one number before moving on after the turn. In Around the Clock, each hit sends your next dart to the next number, and the game ends on the bull. Singles also scores points: 1 for a single, 2 for a double, and 3 for a triple.

Do doubles and triples count in Singles?

Yes. Any part of your current number counts as a hit and moves you on. A single scores 1 point, a double 2, and a triple 3. Some players count only singles for a stricter game. DartsOn counts doubles and triples as hits worth bonus points by default, and you can set Doubles & Triples to Miss for the stricter version.

Which single area should I aim for?

The outer single, between the triple and double rings. It is the larger of the 2 single areas on each number.

Singles Rules - How to Play

Singles is a practice game that works through the numbers from 1 to 20 in order. Aim for the single area of each number. A double or triple on the same number also counts and scores bonus points.

Also known as: Singles Around the Clock, Singles Around the Board, or 1 to 20 Singles.

How to play

Take turns throwing 3 darts.
Work through the numbers in order, from 1 up to 20.
Throw all 3 darts at your current number. Hit it at least once and you move to the next number for your next turn.
Any part of your current number counts as a hit: either single area, the double, or the triple.

Some players move on as soon as they hit, as in Around the Clock. Agree which way you play.

Scoring

Each hit on your current number scores points, and the thin rings are worth more:

Darts on any other number score nothing. Points don’t change how far you move. However many hits you get, you move on 1 number.

For a stricter game, count only the single areas and treat doubles and triples as misses.

How to win

The first player to hit every number from 1 to 20 wins. If you let everyone finish the round, the highest points total breaks a tie.

There are many ways to play Singles. If you use DartsOn, you can play with the following options:

With Finish Round on, any players still waiting can complete that round. Among those who finish, the highest points total wins, then the fewest darts; matching both is a tie.

Dedicated Target keeps you on one number until you change it or end the session.

Stats tracked in DartsOn

At the end of each leg, DartsOn shows these stats for each player:

Stat	What it shows
Targets Completed	Targets you completed, out of the targets in the leg, for example 12/20.
Hit Rate	Hits on the current target as a share of all darts thrown.
Darts Thrown	Darts thrown in the leg.
Avg Darts Per Target	Darts thrown for each target you completed.
Points	Points from darts on the current target. With Bonus points, a double scores 2 and a triple 3; otherwise every hit scores 1.
Singles Hit, Doubles Hit, Triples Hit	Hits on the current target in each ring.
Heat map	Where each player's darts landed. Tap it for a full-screen view of every landing. Shown when darts are scored with the camera.

A target-by-target view shows the darts you threw at each target and whether you hit it.

A Dedicated Target session shows your 3-dart avg in place of Targets Completed and Avg Darts Per Target.

In a game of several legs, the end-of-game summary adds up every leg.
